Cornerstone wasn’t born in a boardroom; it was forged in the trenches of rural healthcare—within the controlled chaos of Critical Access emergency departments, the grit of late-night board meetings, and the quiet dedication of rural labor and delivery units.
As a Physician Assistant, a Registered Nurse, and a Life Safety Expert, we spent decades on the front lines. We saw dedicated clinicians burning out and passionate leaders sidelined by one-size-fits-all solutions from consultants who didn't understand our world. After a chance meeting at an accreditation conference, we asked: What if a management company was built by the people who actually do the work? What if change wasn’t dictated, but cultivated from the bottom up? That question became our mission and led to our transition into a non-profit corporation.
By removing the profit-first motives of traditional consulting, we’ve aligned our success entirely with yours. We combined our diverse expertise—from the bedside to the C-suite and the bedrock of facility safety—to provide the elite, obtainable support rural hospitals deserve.

Janae Wright, EMBA, MSN, RN | The Clinical Visionary
Executive Director & Founder Janae Wright is a dynamic Nurse Executive and healthcare strategist with over a decade of experience in C-suite leadership and hospital stabilization.
Raised in a small ranching community in Clayton, New Mexico, Janae understands the grit and self-reliance required to sustain rural life. This upbringing fuels her passion for protecting the "heartbeat" of rural towns—their local hospitals.
With a dual Executive MBA and Master of Science in Nursing, Janae bridges the gap between clinical excellence and financial viability. She has dedicated her career to revitalizing underperforming healthcare facilities, ensuring that families in underserved areas don't have to travel hundreds of miles for quality care.
At Cornerstone, she leads the strategic vision to move rural hospitals from survival to sustainability.
Jason Wright, Major, PA-C | The Mission-Driven Provider
Major Jason Wright, EMPA-C, FAAPA Chief Medical Officer & Board Treasurer Major Jason Wright is an Active-Duty Army Veteran and a highly credentialed Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant with over 20 years of frontline experience.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (FAAPA) and holding a specialized Certificate of Added Qualifications in Emergency Medicine (EMPA-C), Jason brings an elite level of clinical precision to the rural healthcare landscape. His career has spanned high-stakes environments, from battlefield medicine to remote Emergency Departments in underserved communities.
Jason’s expertise is central to Cornerstone’s Revenue Integrity programs, where he oversees Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and Utilization Review.
As a combat-tested provider and a Fellow in his field, he ensures that rural facilities are equipped with the advanced clinical protocols and leadership necessary to stabilize patients and maximize operational resources in resource-limited environments.
Michael Jones, CHSP, CHCM, CSSGB | The Safety & Regulatory Master

Mike brings over 20 years of expertise in physical environment, life safety, emergency management, and healthcare construction infection control, with deep knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission, DNV, CIHQ, AAAHC, NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.
He has held leadership roles across acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, behavioral health, emergency departments, ambulatory surgery centers, and clinics.
He holds multiple certifications, including CHSP, CHCM, CSSGB, HACP (CMS), and specialized credentials in infection control and physical environment.
Mike currently serves as a Life Safety/Physical Environment Surveyor for AAAHC and CIHQ, and as a Principal Senior Consultant with Covenant Rock Consulting.
